Student Enrichment In The Arts (Seas) Program
On March 6, 1990, the Board initiated a program designed to support and fund enrichment activities for the students of Broward County. The Student Enrichment in the Arts (SEAS) Program provides students the opportunity to participate in artistic, cultural and enrichment activities that supplement the core curriculum. Approximately 163 shows to be presented at schools and the Broward Center for the Performing Arts will serve 105,000 students. Revised Teacher Job Descriptions Adopted To Support Career Ladder Program
For Teachers
Florida Statute requires that each school district implement a career ladder for classroom teachers. The Board adopted revised job descriptions to support implementation of the District's Better Educated Students and Teachers (BEST) Career Ladder program. Four career advancement levels for classroom teachers: Associate, Professional, Lead and Mentor will be implemented. Existing job descriptions for the four levels were modified to delete references to multiple salary schedules and extended work hours that were previously funded as part of a pilot program.
