Everglades Gators Dedicate New School
Everglades High School in Miramar was officially dedicated on May 26th. In addition to the customary ribbon-cutting presided over by Miramar Mayor Lori Moseley, School Board member Beverly Gallagher and Principal David Jones, the event featured a musical prelude by the school’s superior-rated wind ensemble and a choral concert . Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the school’s outdoor theater and members of the JROTC provided guided tours.

Dedication Ceremony Marks Coral Glades High Inaugural Year
Coral Glades High School held its official dedication ceremony on May 20th. Representatives of the City of Coral Springs along with District officials were on hand to mark the occasion by taking part in a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a time capsule presentation. More than 1,700 freshmen, sophomore and junior class members enjoyed their first year at Coral Glades last year.

Atlantic Technical Center’s Magnet
High School
Atlantic Technical High School celebrated the addition of 24 new classrooms at a ceremony held on May 11th. School Board member Robert D. Parks, Ed.D. and Coconut Creek Mayor Marilyn Gerber officiated at the dedication/ribbon-cutting ceremony. The school’s unique design allows students to become immersed in a rigorous and challenging learning environment while capturing their interest in a variety of career-focused electives; it was recently recognized by the International Center for Leadership in Education as one of Florida’s 50 Model Schools.

• The first stone of the Lincoln Memorial was put in place.
