Catherine A. Cirillo,
2004 School-Related
Employee
of the Year |
Catherine A. Cirillo is a model employee and citizen. She
has paved a path of success with every task she has taken
on and is definitely a role model for others everywhere.
Because of her dedication, 'take charge' attitude and nurturing
personality, Cirillo has been named the Broward County
Public Schools 2004 School-Related Employee of the Year.
Although her job title is micro-technician, Cirillo
also serves as the bookkeeper, budgetkeeper, and office
manager for Bennett Elementary in Fort Lauderdale. She
holds the record for being the senior employee at Bennett,
having been there for 10 years. Besides being an outstanding
employee, she is a dedicated mother, community volunteer,
booster club member and a diehard Florida Marlins fan.
Cirillo has a spotless record. Throughout her tenure
at Bennett, she has been exception free on all audits.
She has assisted with training and provided support to
new bookkeepers throughout the Ft. Lauderdale Innovation
Zone.
In addition to her bookkeeper and budgetkeeper duties,
Cirillo runs a very well disciplined, highly trained
and motivated office staff as the school's office manager.
When a problem or complication arises, she takes ownership
to resolve the issue.
The number of greetings she gets when walking through
the hallways can measure Cirillo's involvement with the
students. She has been an active volunteer at Bennett
and throughout the community.
As the parent of a learning-disabled student, she has
been instrumental in transitioning many special needs
students into mainstream education through mentoring.
She has also been a familiar face in the academic camp
sessions for FCAT preparation, Family Math and Science
Nights, and all PTA functions.
Catherine A. Cirillo is a true professional, a dedicated
worker and a wonderful person. She's a leader and a role
model, and truly deserves to be called Broward County
Public Schools School-Related Employee of the Year 2004.
