City Teacher Project to Move Forward
The Board approved a continuation agreement with the Council of the Great City Schools for participation in the Great City Teacher Project. Broward is one of four urban school districts invited to work in partnership with an urban university on the project under the auspices of the Council of the Great City Schools. The goal of the project is to recruit, prepare, support and license 125-175 competent special education teachers across the four school districts. Working in cooperation with the Teaching and Leadership Center at Florida Atlantic University, Broward's portion of the goal is 28-30 teachers.

Board Approves Agreement With Kids in Distress

Kids In Distress will enhance the program with the services of a psychiatrist, social worker and other support staff. The organization will also provide a furnished classroom as well as access to a computer lab during school hours.
