Web site Sports New Look,
New Features

There was certainly no rest for the weary this summer when it came to the District's Web site (www.browardschools.com). If you haven't logged on recently, you should!

The site underwent a total redesign to make it more user-friendly and provide even more information than before. Our site receives about 1.2 million "hits" each month from all over the world, including Saudi Arabia, New Zealand and Great Britain. Over the past few years, the site has been honored for its design and purpose, winning a Bronze Anvil Award from the Public Relations Society of America and a 2001/02 Golden Web Award from the International Association of Webmasters and Designers.

Helpful Updates
While we are proud of how far our Web site has come since its early days, we're not satisfied resting on our laurels. We've updated it and enhanced its features so that it now contains a wealth of information, including:
· school addresses
· telephone numbers
· photographs and links to school web sites (where applicable)
· school-by-school grades
· lunch menus
· yearly calendar
· standardized test scores
· district reports
· construction projects
· employment opportunities

New Features
Along with a new design, the Web site has debuted a few new features:
· BCPS NetTV - featuring video highlights of events taking place around the District
· The Reporter's Notebook - designed with reporters in mind, providing access to frequently requested information, generic video footage and still photographs
· History of Broward County Public Schools - created with the assistance of the Broward County Historical Commission to provide a general overview of the history of public education in the county

Our Web site has emerged as a vital communication tool for the District and we will continue to look for ways to ensure it provides valuable information to our community - both locally and globally.
