Have You Used CAB’s Auto Reply Feature?
Did you know that you can set CAB to automatically reply to messages that are sent to you? This is a very useful feature if you are going to be out of the office or not available to immediately respond to messages.

Just follow these easy steps, if your CAB is FirstClass version 8.0 or higher.
1. Open CAB.
2. Go to Preferences. (To find Preferences on a Mac: click on FirstClass, at the top left of your screen. On a PC, click on Edit to find Preferences.)
3. Click on the Messaging tab.
4. Click on Mail Rules tab.

In the “Automatically reply to” field
5. Select “Yes” in the Local Mail drop down menu.
6. Select “Yes” in the Internet Mail drop down menu.
7. In the “Reply text” box, type the message you would like senders to automatically receive.

Here is what your settings should look like, once it is complete.

When you return to your office, be sure you turn off the CAB auto reply feature.
Follow these steps:
1. Open CAB.
2. Go to Preferences.
3. Click on the Messaging tab.
4. Click on Mail Rules tab.
In the “Automatically reply to” field
5. Select “No” in the Local Mail drop down menu.
6. Select “No” in the Internet Mail drop down menu.
(Be sure you’ve selected “No” for both Local and Internet mail.)

8. Click “apply” and “ok.”

Important notice: Do not send a message to yourself to test your auto reply!!

Doing so will cause a loop on the server and your account will automatically fill up with thousands of auto reply messages. If this occurs, your account will be disabled and you will not receive any messages.
J.P. Taravella High School Winter Guard
Captures Gold

The J.P. Taravella High School color guard earned the Scholastic Class A Gold Medal at the annual Winter Guard International World Championships held in April in Dayton, Ohio. The 15-member team received the honor for their presentation of a “Soldier’s Silent Night.”

The achievement marked the first time any Broward County school in any color guard division received a gold medal at this event. A live violin solo amidst the swirling winds of battle helped convey the story of loneliness. Thoughts of being away from loved ones were expressed by body sculpturing and elegiac equipment movement.

One hundred-twelve groups from the United States, Canada, Japan, France and England competed in this year’s Scholastic Class A World Championships. Teams from Cooper City, Marjory Stoneman Douglas, Cypress Bay, Flanagan and Coral Glades high schools also participated at various class levels.
Scholarship Fund Honors Late Educator
William E. Dandy
William E. Dandy
A scholarship established in honor of the late William E. Dandy will enable a District high school senior who has maintained at least a 3.2 unweighted cumulative GPA to attend a four-year college or university in the United States. A longtime educator and proponent of racial integration, Dandy died in February at the age of 79. To contribute to the William E. Dandy Scholarship Fund, make a check payable to the Zeta Alpha Lambda Chapter Educational and Charitable Foundation, noting the scholarship fund, and mail it to P.O. Box 100996, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33310.
