BCPS Receives Dr. Shirley S. Schwartz Urban Education Impact Award with Collaborative Partners

Broward County Public Schools (BCPS), Florida Atlantic University and the School District of Palm Beach County received the 2017 Dr. Shirley S. Schwartz Urban Education Impact Award for their collaborative program, Establishing Excellence in Elementary Preparation (EXCEED). The award, presented at the Council of Great Schools Annual Fall Conference in Cleveland, Ohio, honors outstanding partnerships between universities and urban school districts that have positive and significant impacts on student learning. The EXCEED initiative aims to enhance the knowledge and field experiences for undergraduate elementary education students to better prepare them for success as K-5 teachers and meeting school districts’ expectations.
