BCPS Students Create Youth Legislation Agenda During Trip to State Capitol

Sunday, June 25, 2017
More than 300 immigrant students from high schools throughout Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) participated in a trip to the State of Florida Capitol. These students learned about state government and created a Youth Legislative Agenda consisting of specific proposals for legislation or executive policies. They had the opportunity to present their ideas at the Capitol to elected officials and decision makers.

This program was sponsored by the Close Up Foundation Washington DC and the BCPS Bilingual/ESOL Department.
