Hallandale High School Students Win Nine Awards at the One Act Thespian Competition

Congratulations to the students from Hallandale High School who won nine awards at the One Act Thespian Competition for District 13 on November 19, 2016, with their drama teacher Kayla Mason.  The students were awarded superior technical and acting achievements, and Hallandale High was selected to represent Broward County at the state competition in March 2017.  

Hallandale High School topped the competition to win the following awards:
  • Best Leading Actress award which went to Lavonne Powell
  • Best Supporting Actress award which went to Enya Brackins
  • Best Stage Manager award which went to Alexis Brown
  • Best Technical award which went to Trevor Collazo and Devonay Scott
  • All-star ensemble award with fellow actors Shania Rutledge, Rachel Anderson, Elizabeth LaPlante, Brandallin Blow and Monalissa St. Firmin
