Monday, March 21, 2016

Students from Lake Forest Elementary School, Mary M. Bethune Elementary School and Walker Elementary School enjoyed a special performance from the South Florida Symphony Orchestra. These schools have been designated Turnaround Arts Program schools by the President’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities.

Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) is one of five schools in the entire nation, and the only school district in Florida, that receives education training and resources as part of the Turnaround Arts Program.

The South Florida Symphony Orchestra is a partner of the program and is providing a “master teaching artist” to introduce third grade students from the three Turnaround Arts Schools to symphony music.
