Broward Virtual School Ambassadors of Hope Partners with Holy Cross Hospital for Thanksgiving

Thursday, December 04, 2014

Broward Virtual School Ambassadors of Hope Club, parents, faculty, and staff teamed up with Holy Cross Hospital for families in need during this Thanksgiving holiday. Ambassadors and the Holy Cross Community Outreach Team sorted and distributed hundreds of Thanksgiving Baskets to 350 families (1,500 household individuals) in need, Tuesday, November 25, 2014.

“Beyond our year-round hunger initiatives, this partnership mobilizes and rallies around children, families, and the homeless, reminding them that they are not forsaken or forgotten during the holiday season,” said Ambassadors of Hope Founder, Christopher Gates.

Every year, associates rally around this cause and donate nonperishable food items, and canned goods, with more than two tons of food collected annually. “Holy Cross Hospital is pleased to have the participation of young people in our community,” said Kim Saiswick, Director of Community Outreach. “It is extremely rewarding to see their commitment to such a worthy cause.”

In their quest to keep our community healthy, the Holy Cross Community Outreach Team works in partnership with local organizations, community groups and other healthcare professionals. (http://www.holy-cross.com/community-outreach)
