The Out of School Youth grant, in partnership with Career Source Broward, helps students earn their GED and gain valuable career experience.  In the 2015/16 grant year, 97 of 107 active students have completed their GED in Broward Community Schools and Technical Colleges. More than 60 students participated in a paid work experience funded through the grant.  More than 30 students have engaged in post-secondary education, and 40 students have entered the work force. Seven participants have accepted part-time positions within the District working as facilities personnel and aftercare workers, and two students have been hired in clerical roles, including one in the District's Career, Technical, Adult and Community Education Department.
