Who better to ask than students, ‘what do students want to eat’? Apparently, that’s what the District’s Food and Nutrition Services team had in mind when they invited students to help determine new cafeteria menu items, for next school year, during the annual Food Show. Student food critics from Riverland Elementary School and Crystal Lake Middle School sampled several potential menu items and shared instant feedback on iPads located at each food taste test station. The most popular items will become potential selections for meals served next school year in cafeterias across the District. An early favorite was the Santa Fe chicken salad prepared by Celebrity Chef Rudy Poindexter during a cooking demonstration.
