Thursday, October 26, 2017

At the fourth annual Building Bridges to Educate, Empower and Elevate town hall-style forum, students at Whiddon Rogers Education Center got the chance to hear from a community panel, including School Board Member Patricia Good, District 2; County Court Judge Florence Taylor-Barner, 17th Judicial Circuit and professional female boxer Chasity Martin, who spoke to the students about overcoming their own personal challenges to reach their goals. The event is an annual part of the school’s “Save our Youth” program, which aims to build bridges between students and community leaders by providing a platform to support and encourage students to reach their full potential.
