The Virtual Enterprises International Trade Show provided high school students from across the District with real-world trade show experience and the opportunity to display and market the businesses they created throughout the year. Students got the chance to buy and sell their products and to compete in various competitions related to the trade show. Students networked and showcased their leadership and presentation skills to an audience of their peers, business leaders and college professors.

Parkland science teacher headed for research trip to Greenland

A South Florida teacher is teaming up with NASA scientists in Greenland to collect data on the movement, thickness and depth of the ice, so they can learn more about the climate and rising sea level. Adeena Teres is planning to use what she learns there and apply it to the classroom at Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland.

Dillard's Burrows nets Florida's top high school hoops coach honor
Dillard coach Darryl Burrows has been named the 2017 Florida Dairy Farmers boys basketball state Coach of the Year. Burrows, who last week was named Coach of the Year for Class 7A, led Dillard to a 28-4 campaign and a second consecutive state basketball title. It was a state record-tying seventh championship for Burrows.

Home of the Falcons, the school is bragging about their “Young Falcon Flyers” program that allows eighth grade students to take courses on campus while allowing ninth graders to take classes at Broward College.

The 20th annual Broward Education Foundation Teacher Expo brought together educators from every city in Broward County to gather ideas for creative classroom projects, participate in continuing education and hear from inspiring speakers. The Expo took place at Nova Southeastern University's Fischler School of Education and Human Resources.
