Manatee Bay Elementary Schools students get out to vote with Kids Voting Broward. The school’s media center doubled as voting precinct. Students who checked in with their official ID were directed to the voting poles and received their “I Voted” sticker. In the days leading up to the election, students were schooled on the candidates, issues and the election process.

Florida Lieutenant Governor Carlos Lopez-Cantera recently made a stop at Sheridan Technical High School with a focus on education. He got a chance to get an inside look at the school’s online academic courses and curriculum, as well as technical programs. Video


Dillard Center for the Arts Hosts Inaugural Superintendent’s Dance Showcase 
Dillard High School Center for the Arts hosted its inaugural Superintendent’s Dance Showcase featuring dance program students from Bethune Elementary School of the Arts, Deerfield Park Elementary School of the Arts, Falcon Cove Middle School, Parkway Middle School of the Arts, and students from Dillard High School Center for the Arts. ‘Chopped’-Style Challenge Puts Culinary Students to the Test
Plantation High School held its second annual ‘Chopped’-style competition of culinary skills. Students from the hospitality and culinary arts program participated in the challenge showcasing their skills and creativity.  Video

McFatter Technical College Hosts Discovery Fest Family Fun, Entertainment and Exploration

McFatter Technical College in Davie is holding Discovery Fest, a free, fun-for-the-whole-family event that includes activities, wellness checks, arts and crafts, food tastings, live entertainment, automotive and home repair tips, ice carving demonstration and more.

High schoolers teach Broward middle schoolers how to paint — with drones – WSVN 7 
About a dozen high school students devoted their afternoon to teach middle school students about a new technology that allows them to paint — with drones.

Brag About Hollywood Hills High School – NBC 6 
They start every class in the military academy magnet program at Hollywood Hills High School with students standing at attention, reciting a mantra about respect and hard work and honor. Similar to what they do in Junior ROTC programs, except this one infuses business leadership skills for the 21st century along with the military-style discipline. It's the only program like this in Broward County.
