Toyota expands national family learning program 
The National Center for Families Learning (NCFL), in partnership with Toyota and Broward County Public Schools (BCPS), today unveiled a unique family learning program. This innovative, two-generation model called Toyota Family Learning is a solution to the educational challenges facing low-income and diverse families. BCPS received a three-year, $175,000 grant from Toyota and NCFL to launch the program.
 
Pompano High School Hosts Student Government Convention for the State of Florida
More than 1,300 students and 200 advisors will attend the State of Florida Student Government Convention.  The event begins with a dinner on Friday night for the students.  Saturday and Sunday, students compete for awards, elect next year’s state officers, create resolutions and attend workshops.  Three motivational speakers will also speak to the students during the convention. 
 
Broward County Public Schools Set to Announce The 2016 Caliber Awards Winners 
Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) is celebrating its best teachers, school leaders and employees at the 2016 Caliber Awards on Friday, April 1, 2016. Six finalists for Teacher of the Year, Principal of the Year, Assistant Principal of the Year and School-Related/District Employee of the Year are vying for the top spots. The winners are announced at the annual Caliber Awards Ceremony.
 
BCPS Invites Parents, Students and School-Based Staff to Participate in AdvancEd Stakeholder Survey
In an ongoing effort to continuously improve upon its practices, Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) invites parents, students and school-based staff to take part in its annual customer survey. This year, the District will use the AdvancED Stakeholder Survey to capture stakeholders’ input, and help target areas of improvement and effectiveness within the District.
 
2016 Youth Arts Month Celebration
Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) showcases student artwork and musical performances during its annual celebration for Youth Arts Month on Thursday, March 31, 2016, from 5:30 – 7 p.m. at the Kathleen C. Wright Administrative Center. 
 
Outreach and Education Event for Suppliers and Contractors 
The Outreach and Education Event provides an opportunity for local businesses and construction contractors to learn about working with the District, including the certification process for minority and women-owned businesses, insurance regulations, pre-qualification and upcoming opportunities.
