Atlantic Technical Center Ribbon Cutting Celebrates New Arthur Ashe, Jr. Campus

WHAT:            Broward County Public Schools Atlantic Technical Center celebrates the opening of a new site – Arthur Ashe, Jr. Branch Campus. School Board members, along with District and school administrators will cut the ribbon to mark the official opening of the facility. This new location joins the growing family of Broward Technical Centers, which provide a wide range of educational opportunities for adults and secondary students.

WHY:               In August 2013, Atlantic Technical Center and Technical High School opened the Arthur Ashe, Jr. Branch as an extension to its main campus in Coconut Creek. Course offerings include Applied Academics for Adult Education (AAAE); General Educational Development (GED®) preparation classes; English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL); career courses offered with industry certifications including Applied Information Technology/ Multimedia Systems; Automotive Service Technology (online through Sheridan Technical Center); Medical Administrative Specialist (Medical Secretary); and Patient Care Technician (Nursing Assistant).
 
The center’s programs can help graduates achieve higher earning power at an affordable cost. Students prepare for nationally recognized industry certifications in their program areas and may be awarded college credit by Broward College and other Florida State colleges toward an AS/AAS degree.
