Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) is proud to host the second National Summit for Principal Supervisors at the Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, May 17- 19, 2017
. Superintendents, district leadership, principal supervisors and aspiring principal supervisors from across the nation will engage in professional development opportunities.
Sponsored by the Council of the Great City Schools and Blackboard, Inc., the summit is designed to provide innovative and critical training for educational leaders. Attendees will participate in two days of training and networking aligned with current trends in educational leadership around the theme, “Change, Develop, Lead.”
This year’s keynote presenter is Daryl Conner, founder and chairman of the Conner Advisor consulting firm dedicated to serving leaders in pursuit of changes that matter. Conner will share strategies for “Leading Transformational Change.” He will also host a Superintendents’ Roundtable. In closing, Dr. Samuel Betances, a senior diversity consultant, will provide a motivational message on how attendees can include the strategies they learned during the summit into their daily operations.
Workshops and sessions span an array of topics essential to the professional development of leaders who provide supervision to school principals, including literacy, social emotional learning, national legislative trends, and leading a new generation of principal supervisors.
Session leaders include representatives from The Wallace Foundation, Council of the Great City Schools, Leaps, SELforSchools.com and BCPS, along with Dr. Tim Rasinksi, literacy expert and renown author of curriculum on reading education.
In addition, during the summit, the BCPS Office of School Performance and Accountability will host the “Very Large/Large District Convening: What Works in Turnaround Schools,” professional development session at its Pompano Beach Administration Center on Wednesday, May 17, 2017.
