BCPS Participates in Celebrate Literacy Week, Florida!

Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) is excited to participate in the annual statewide Celebrate Literacy Week, Florida!, which takes place January 25 – 29, 2016. This year’s theme is “Literacy Changes Our World!”  

During Celebrate Literacy Week, Florida!, schools throughout the District  participate in a variety of activities to inspire a love of reading, such as read-a-thons, reading challenges, cross-grade buddy reading, author visits and book signings. Schools are encouraged to share pictures of activities, events and celebrations via Twitter using @browardliteracy and @browardschools.

In addition, congratulations to Millennium Middle Scho  ol for being selected to participate in the Toss-Up Quiz Show Contest, sponsored by the Florida Lottery and Just Read Florida! The quiz show travels to schools across the state, with a focus on middle school students, and challenges them on their mastery of civics standards. The Toss-Up Quiz Show Contest takes place at Millennium Middle School on February 2, 2016, at approximately 10:30 a.m. Media are invited to cover this event.
