BCPS Spring Health Fair and Annual Resource Fair

WHO:               Broward County Public Schools Student Support Initiatives Department
WHAT:            The Spring Health Fair is an outreach effort to help promote health among parents and students in the community. The annual Resource Fair is an effort to provide information, resources and services that are available through Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) and other community organizations and vendors.
WHEN:        Saturday, April 12, 2014, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
WHERE:      Lauderdale Manors Early Learning & Family Resource Center
                        1400 NW 14th Court, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33311
WHY:            The Coordinated Student Health Services Department is hosting the Health Fair in an ongoing effort to help improve the health and social-emotional needs of families in the Broward County community. The fair will provide free services and education, including immunizations, dental, nutrition, women’s health and wellness, blood pressure and diabetes screening, mental/behavioral support, WIC and Florida KidCare, along with a variety of other services.
The Student Support/Student Services Department’s annual Resource Fair will provide resources and services available through BCPS, Broward Health, Broward County Human Services Department and others. Resources will include child abuse and neglect services, family literacy, early childhood education, parenting classes, life skills and emergency assistance. Several agencies and organizations will be on hand to provide assistance and services for a variety of needs.                         
Both events are free and open to the public.
