Chinese Cultural Awareness Day at Pompano Beach High School International Summit

WHO:  
Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) Students, Teachers, District Staff, Parents, Guest Educators and Students from China

WHAT:
BCPS students and students from around the world will participate in a Chinese Cultural Awareness Day including performances by students, exhibits and samples of authentic Chinese foods.  Performances include:
  • Cypress Bay High School: Opening performance of the Dragon Dance and Fan Dance
  • Pompano Beach High School: Musical and dance performances
  • Chongqing Fudan Middle School: Ancient clothes show, Tai Chi, Calligraphy and musical performance
  • Pompano Beach High: Dance performance and fashion show
  • South Broward High School: Cultural performance
  • Chongqing Number 11 High School: Tai Chi and musical performance
  • Western High School: Chinese play “New Year’s Gift”
  • Crystal Lake Middle School: Cultural performance
  • Fort Lauderdale High School: Musical performance
  • China Nankai Secondary School: Chinese dance and musical performances
  • Tusky Valley High School: Jasmine Flower song, “Mo Li Hua”
  •  Tradewinds Elementary School: Peacock Fan Dance

WHY:      
The Confucius Institute raises awareness of Chinese culture and traditions. Through the institute, students gain exposure to the Chinese language, arts and cultural events.
