Health Literacy Event Celebrates Florida Health Literacy Month

WHO:
Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) Community Schools South Family Literacy Program, City of Sunrise and Florida Department of Health

WHAT:
A health literacy event for the community will include health presentations, screenings, hands-on fitness demonstrations, storytime, relay races, face painting, a bounce house and much more.  

WHEN:   Saturday, March 12, 2016, from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.

WHERE:  
City of Sunrise, Village Multipurpose Center

WHY:
In celebration of the Florida Health Literacy Initiative, the city of Sunrise Department of Leisure Services, Florida Department of Health and BCPS Community Schools South are offering free health-education resources for the community, including adult English Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL).  Program sponsors are Florida Blue, Florida Literacy Coalition and Broward County Public Schools Career, Technical, Adult and Community Education Department.
