Approximately 150 elementary, middle and high school students will showcase the Lego Mindstorms® robots they built and programmed in response to local environmental challenges.
At the beginning of the 2013/14 school year, Ultimate Software donated funds to Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) STEM & Instructional Resources Department for purchasing Lego Mindstorms® robots for six elementary schools, one middle school and one high school in the city of Weston.
Through this initiative, students from 3rd grade through 12th grade were tasked with building and programming robots to solve problems related to renewable energy and contributing to a green environment. During the Green City Challenge, students will be demonstrating their robots and what they learned as a result of the project.
