WHY: Principal Dr. Ryan T. Reardon and staff of the new Lauderhill 6-12 STEM-MED (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics – Medical and Engineering Design) Magnet School will host a ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the opening of Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) first 6-12 grade magnet school. Although opened to students on the first day of school, August 19, the ribbon cutting ceremony will commemorate the school’s official opening.
The event, which is sponsored in part by the city of Lauderhill, will be attended by Superintendent Robert W. Runcie, School Board members, city of Lauderhill officials, parents, students, teachers, staff and community members.
A reception will follow the ribbon cutting ceremony. The community is invited to celebrate the opening of Lauderhill 6-12 STEM-MED and “the next generation of learners and leaders.” For information, contact Magnet Coordinator Arnetta Davis at 754-322-3621.
