Middle School Students Share Their Technology Skills with Teachers

Thursday, July 11, 2013

The start of the new school year is still several weeks away, but 22 middle school students are getting ready to head to class.  They will not be the ones taking notes, though; they will be among the instructors!  For the second year in a row, Nova Middle School Tech Team students are invited to join the professionals conducting training sessions during the Promethean ActivEducator Summer Conference.

The conference, sponsored by Engaged Learning Solutions, is aimed at training teachers on the use of ActivInspire Software and Promethean ActivBoards in the classroom.  The student presenters learned to use the software and ActivBoards during the school year and are now getting real world experience by sharing their knowledge and ideas with the approximately 160 teachers attending the free conference.

The Promethean ActivEducator Summer Conference takes place this Monday, July 15, 2013, at McFatter Technical Center, located at 6500 Nova Drive in Davie.  The students will be presenting their sessions between 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.  The media is invited to attend.

Promethean ActivBoards are technology enhanced white boards that enable teachers to enrich student learning through the use of interactive activities, displays, response systems, tools and curriculum.  For more information, visit engagedlearningsolutions.com.
