WHY:            
The Superintendent’s JROTC Cadet of the Year Ceremony recognizes the top cadets in the District’s JROTC and NMSCC. Honorees represent 30 high schools and six middle schools. School Board members and Superintendent Runcie will present scholarships and awards to select cadets.
 
In addition, the Pass in Review provides an opportunity for School Board members and the Superintendent to provide awards recognizing Broward County Public Schools cadets and JROTC programs in several categories, including:
  • Cadet earning the highest grade point average
  • Cadet earning the highest SAT score 
  • Cadet earning the highest ACT score
  • Cadet receiving the most post-secondary scholarships
  • JROTC program with the largest number of cadets
  • JROTC program with the largest number of cadets attending a college or university after graduation
  • JROTC program with the largest number of cadets entering the military after graduation
