Superintendent Robert W. Runcie Welcomes Students and Families to the 2017/18 School Year

 

 

 

Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) is excited to welcome students back to class on Monday, August 21, 2017.  Four District schools that follow a year-round calendar – Colbert Museum Magnet, Lake Forest Elementary School, Watkins Elementary School and McNicol Middle School – began on Wednesday, August 9, 2017.

The District’s Food and Nutrition Services Department is dedicated to ensuring students have healthy and tasty food choices in their school cafeterias!  

Here's a look at What's New on the Menu in the 2017/18 school year:
  • Chicken Drumsticks (antibiotic free)*
  • Chicken “Snack-atizers” (antibiotic free)* 
  • Stuffed Burgers
  • Edamame Blend Vegetables* 
  • Strawberry Banana Swirls*
  • Walking Tacos (being piloted in middle schools)

Anti-Bullying Policy

 
In 2008, the Broward County School Board became the first school district in Florida to approve an Anti-Bullying Policy. The policy specifically prohibits bullying of or by any District student or employee, with consequences for those acts that meet the definition of bullying as defined in the policy. The Code Book for Conduct
