Students at the Dave Thomas Education Center West heard from local leaders in their U.S. History and political classes to celebrate Government Week.
North Andrews Gardens Elementary celebrated National Young Readers Week with an all-day long reading event. Literary Coach Kimberly Calvert read to almost 1,000 students throughout the day.
Congratulations to Christopher Gates, Technology Specialist at Broward Virtual School for being a speaker at the 2015 Pilates Method Alliance Annual Meeting in Denver, Colorado.
The Lauderhill 6-12 Panther Pride Family Showcase Extravaganza, held October 20, 2015, provided more than 200 parents and students the opportunity to participate in hands-on experiences through literacy, mathematics, science, technology and social studies, and enjoy student performances.   
Students at Margate Elementary School now have the opportunity to learn in a peaceful, outdoor learning environment.
Students and staff from Chapel Trail Elementary held a schoolwide celebration to honor local veterans. 
Congratulations to Bethune Elementary School of the Arts drama teacher, Nerissa Street, for selection by the Florida Alliance for Arts Education as one of four recipients of the Hermitage Artist Retreat's annual summer program State Teacher Artist Residencies (STARs).
Students got a chance to meet Captain Barrington Irving to learn more about the adventures of his “Flying Classroom,” during his helicopter schools tour. The students, who are studying STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), have been following Captain Irving on his many expeditions around the world.
On November 6, 2015, NFL legend Isaac Bruce presented Dillard High School with a commemorative Golden Football as part of the Super Bowl’s 50th anniversary celebration.
Welleby Elementary School, in conjunction with Broward 100, is participating in the Inside Out project as part of the yearlong celebration of Broward County’s 100 years history through art and culture.
This week, students from Panther Run Elementary School had the opportunity to visit Univision to learn about how news and the popular morning show Despierta America are put together and delivered. 
The BFF Club is the only school in Broward County to participate in the City of Sunrise Fire Department’s Certified Emergency Response Team (C.E.R.T.) with 18 students graduating and receiving Federal Emergency Management Agency certification.
Students from Dillard Elementary School participated in STEM learning activities with college professors throughout the Broward College North Campus as part of the STEM Empowerment Conference.
Students from Floranada Elementary School participated in the World Education Games including competition in spelling, math and science. 
Dr. Lisa Milenkovic, STEM Science Curriculum supervisor, participated in a Back to School Climate Education event hosted by the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, as part of the President’s Climate Action Plan.
Derek Davis, curator at Broward County Public Schools Old Dillard Museum, was honored for Community Service and Distinguished Achievement
On September 30, 2015, Tequesta Trace Middle School celebrated its 25th Anniversary. 
Congratulations to School Board member Patti Good, for being invited to The White House on October 15, 2015.
Congratulations to Dredrick Snelson and Devin Bush, Jr. of Flanagan High School for being selected to the 2016 Under Armour All-American High School Football Game.

The Lauderhill 6-12 sixth grade School Is Cool (YMCA) students spent an afternoon with the Swatch FIVB Volleyball Championship professional players at Fort Lauderdale Beach. 

Participating in a teacher exchange agreement with Montpellier, France, Principal Haleh Darbar welcomes Madame Corinee Miron to Everglades High School. 

Miramar High School football team partners with SHEAR Inc. and the Miami Rescue Mission to feed the homeless.
Derek Davis, Curator of the Old Dillard Museum, participated in a Sunnyside Chat at the 2015 National Urban League Conference at the Greater Fort Lauderdale - Broward County Convention Center.
