Employee & Labor Relations
The primary function of the Employee & Labor Relations Department is to negotiate Collective Bargaining Agreements and settle disputes that arise through the misapplication of work rules, policies and procedures. Our function is aligned to District objectives that support teachers and principals in providing effective instruction and guidance to students.
The Employee & Labor Relations Department negotiates collective bargaining agreements for The School Board of Broward County, Florida with the:
- Broward Teachers Union (BTU)
- Federation of Public Employees (FOPE)
- Police Benevolent Association (PBA)
In addition to negotiating contracts, Employee & Labor Relations coordinates the Sick Bank Enrollment/Program and the College Credit Incentive Program.
The Employee & Labor Relations Department is also responsible for grievance processing, assisting with contract implementation and administration, staying abreast of current state laws related to education and collective bargaining and much more.
