Broward’s Innovative Tool for Education (BRITE) is the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Department project to bring one business system to Broward schools.  The three-year initiative that replaces Broward’s existing, independent business systems with one integrated system, will replace some systems that are more than three decades old.  BRITE will facilitate easy access to operational and educational information, including single point access and real-time information reporting.

The new system is being rolled out in stages.  Budget Preparation is the first stage to go live, launches in November 2007. Finance and Procurement launches in December 2007. Human resources, Payroll and Professional Development will launch in Summer 2008. BRITE is following the recommendation to delay the Wave 2 (Asset Accounting, Accounts Receivable, Plant Maintenance and e-Recruitment modules) implementation until the successful implementation of the HR/Paryoll.
