The School Board of Broward County is allowing for fundraising and/or other charitable activities such as the collection of supplies to support the immediate relief efforts to the disaster-ravished areas in Haiti. High schools, District Area Offices, and KCW will serve as main collection sites. Items collected will be sent to the following designated charitable agencies, which are active in Haiti:

World Vision
As instructed by these agencies, the specific items needed NOW include:
First-aid kits
Bottled water
Flashlights
Batteries
Canned meat and fish
Condensed milk
Evaporated milk
Non-perishable milk (such as Perma Life)
Hand sanitizers
Diapers
Blankets
Clothing and other food items are also welcome, but will be distributed later.

Donations to the International Response Fund can be made by phone at 1-800-REDCROSS or
1-800-257-7575 (Spanish) or online at (www.redcross.org). You can also donate $10 by texting "HAITI" to 90999. The $10 donation will be added to your cell phone bill.

By texting 'Yele' to 501501 you can donate $5 to YELE HAITI. The $5.00 donation will be added to your cell phone bill. Donations will go directly to help with relief efforts.
