Podcasting is a way to publish audio broadcasts via the Internet, allowing users to subscribe to a feed of new files (usually MP3s and Video). It’s distinct from other types of on-line media because of its subscription model, which uses a feed (such as
RSS or Atom) to deliver an enclosed file.
You may subscribe to feeds using "podcatching" software (a type of
aggregator), wwhich periodically checks for and downloads new content automatically. Some podcatching software is also able to synchronise (copy) podcasts to portable music players. Any digital audio player or computer with audio-playing software can play a podcast.
We suggest using Apple's free
iTunes program with its large selection of podcasts. Adding a podcast is as easy as clicking the 'Subscribe' button, but if you don't find the one you're looking for or have different podcast software, you can subscribe by copying and pasting the address of the podcast's feed, often shown by an orange

button
When subscribed, the software will check the feed, and downloaded Video Podcast to your computer only when a new one is posted. You can listen to it from your computer, or sync it to your portable music player, and take it on the run with you!
