BCAA Game of the
Week 11:
Deerfield Beach 24 - Boyd Anderson 13
|
After 30 years, Boyd Anderson High School has its own on-site stadium
complex. School Board Member Benjamin Williams and Lauderdale Lakes
Mayor Samuel S. Brown led a delegation of community members in the
dedication of the new stadium.
Cobra stadium is a state-of-the-art facility with a nine-lane polyurethane
track, concession stand, ticket booths, bathrooms, lights, press box,
scoreboard and new bleachers with a spectator capacity in excess of 2,500.
School Board Member Benjamin Williams summed up the nights festivities
with one word – "FANTASTIC."
The Boyd Anderson Cobra's made a valiant effort to win their stadium
opening game. Behind the passing of quarterback Roosevelt Kaiser, the
Cobra's trailed Deerfield Beach High 17-13 in the fourth quarter. However,
All-County Buck quarterback Brent Schaeffer answered the call with a
late fourth quarter pass of 84 yards to Albert Andrews to seal a Bucks
win. Schaeffer had another outstanding game for the Bucks, throwing for
over 325 yards with no interceptions.
Deerfield Beach High demonstrated why they are the BCAA's hottest team.
The Bucks did not let their guard down after beating nationally ranked
Blanche Ely the previous week. The Bucks finished the season 7-3, and
District Champion District 6-6A, while Boyd Anderson fell to a disappointing
3-7.
