BCAA Game of the
Week 11:
Stranahan 28 - Ft. Lauderdale 7
|
The Stranahan High School Dragons vs. Ft. Lauderdale High School Flying
L's rivalry began in 1958 and is the county's second oldest continuous
rivalry. This game used to be played annually on Thanksgiving Day before
capacity crowds. During the mid 1970's, fans were often turned away from
the gate due to the standing room only crowds. This game has a tremendous
tradition and history.
The Dragons, under the leadership of Head Coach Vince Schavio, closed
out the season with a win, finishing 5-5 for the season. The Flying L's
began the season as one of Broward County's hottest teams. The L's won
five of their first seven games. Unfortunately, the L’s lost their
final three games and finished the season a disappointing 5-5.
