BCAA Game of the
Week 3:
Plantation 42 Boyd Anderson 18
|
The Plantation Colonels are 2-0 and on the run..... literally speaking.
Behind a punishing offensive line, the Colonel running backs amassed
439 yards on the ground cruising to a 42-18 win. The Colonel running
attack was led by Georgia Wells (#3) who scored 3 TDs and ran for
a career best 189 yards. The BA defense found themselves double-teamed
as Colonel running back Shane Osbourne (#7) added 116 yards and two
TDs.
The ground game for the Colonels was unstoppable as Plantation scored
on four of their first five possessions. For a while, the Cobras kept
the game close trailing 7-0 at the end of the first quarter and 7-6 midway
into the second quarter. Boyd Anderson receiver Jimmy Toussiant scored
on a 82-yard pass play. The Colonel running attack answered by scoring
21 straight points on the ground.
The Colonel defense was impressive, limiting the BA wing-T offense under
100 yards rushing. The Colonel victory marked the opening of action in
the competitive District 7-6A.
