BCAA Game of the Week 5: Western High 45 – Hollywood Hills 26

The BCAA Game of the Week featured the Spartans of Hollywood Hills High School and the Wildcats of Western High School. There were many similarities between the two teams: both had struggled in recent years, both have experienced coaching staffs, both are in very tough FHSAA Districts and both are striving to make this a turn-around season for their programs.

The teams were evenly matched for the first quarter, both scoring each time they got the ball. In the second quarter, the Western ground game, led by a "fired up" offensive line and the hard running of Josh Kalb, started to take charge. Throughout the remainder of the game, each time the Spartans pulled into striking distance, Western would respond, usually with Kalb who finished the night with 5 touchdowns and 216 rushing yards. In the end, Western extended its streak to 4-0 by a 19-point margin.
Next week, Western will travel to Lockhart Stadium to take on Dillard High School in an important District Game, while Hollywood Hills will take on Miami Edison High School at Edison.
