BCAA Game of the
Week 6:
Flanagan 20 - Boyd Anderson 0
|
Have you ever seen a green Falcon? Just ask Roosevelt Kaiser, quarterback
for the Boyd Anderson Cobras.
A relentless Falcon defense pressured and harassed Kaiser Saturday (10/5)
afternoon for four quarters of football. By the end of the day, the Boyd
Anderson offense finished with a minus 61 yards rushing. Kaiser, the
leading rusher for the Cobras and the BCAA's third leading passer, simply
had no time to make big plays. Falcon linebacker Alex Martin led a defense
that sacked Kaiser often and shut down the quarterback's running lanes.
The Falcon victory was well received by more than 1,200 happy fans – many
lof whom painted their faces green. This was the first game conducted
at the new on campus stadium at Charles W. Flanagan High school. Through
the collective efforts of the School Board of Broward County, City of
Pembroke Pines and community based Get Flanagan A Stadium, the Falcons
will be playing their future football games at home. The excitement and
passion of the Flanagan Falcon fans will add a "12th" man to
the football team.
The Falcons scored twice through the air as quarterback Robert Palmer
completed touchdown passes of 18 and 69 yards. The big pass play came
with 2:23 left in the third quarter as Palmer hit wide out Rober Seraphin
on a quick slant over the middle. Seraphin outran the defenders for a
69-yard scoring play. The Falcon defense sealed the game in the fourth
quarter by scoring a TD on a blocked punt.
