On the opening kick off a pack of wild Colonels buried the St Thomas kick off returner at the Raiders 27-yard line. On the first play from scrimmage, the Colonel defense stuffed the Raider running back for no gain. The Colonels came out hitting; it was a good omen. Led by middle linebacker Nick Williams (#45) the Colonels' defense dominated the Raider offense, holding the Raiders to only three points.

Last year the Plantation offense was ranked #2 in Broward County amassing over 387 yards per game. However, on a rainy night at PAL field, the Colonels sent a clear message to BCAA teams that the its defense is fast, strong and dominating. The defense held St Thomas to less than 100 yards rushing and forced two turnovers.
St Thomas got on the scoreboard first with Scott Svarney kicking a 28-yard field goal with 1:44 left in the first quarter. The teams traded possessions until late in the second quarter when Colonel quarterback Darrel Strong made the play of the game. Strong hit receiver Woodney Strong along the sideline for 42-yards to the Raider 8 yard line. Ricardo Curry knocked in the score for Plantation with a 3-yard run. At half time the score was 7-3.

The second half saw the vaulted Plantation running back give shift into high gear. Both Colonel running backs Travorous Bess and Ricardo Curry ran for over 100 yards. The Colonels sealed the game in the fourth quarter on a sensational 10-yard throw by Strong. Strong rolling to his left threw a bullet across his body, finding Cedric McGee alone for the score.
