STUDENTS AT BRIGHT HORIZONS SCHOOL ASSIST CHARITY IN FEEDING HOMELESS FAMILIES

WHO:
Students and staff at Bright Horizons School; St. Vincent de Paul Food Bank

WHAT:
Students with moderate to severe disabilities who attend Bright Horizons School are collecting, sorting, packaging and delivering food to St. Vincent de Paul's Food Bank as part of the school's Hearts to Hands project.

WHEN:
At 10 a.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays, students travel to St. Vincent de Paul's Food Bank to help prepare the pantry for food distribution to families.

WHERE:
St. Vincent de Paul's Food Bank, 2323 N. Dixie Highway, Pompano Beach

HOW:
Bright Horizons School serves students with moderate to severe disabilities. The school has a vocational lab where students are able to learn the skills needed for employment. As part of the school's Community Based Instruction program, the students are able to further develop those skills at the food bank.

ADDITIONAL:
Community members may donate food to the food bank by depositing items in a box at the Publix supermarket in Lighthouse Point, or by bringing items to the school (3901 NE 1 Terrace, Pompano Beach) between 7:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. St. Vincent de Paul's Food Bank has been in existence since 1964 and provides food for approximately 300 homeless families each week.
