BCPS Parent/Community Task Force Seeks Parent and Community Help
The Broward County Public Schools Parent/Community Involvement Task Force, established by the Broward County School Board, will host its first community forum on Thursday, October 6 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Plantation High School (6901 NW 16th Street, Plantation) in the school auditorium. New incoming Superintendent Robert W. Runcie is scheduled to join the Task Force in the kick-off of its first community forum.
In an effort to build awareness of the Parent/Community Task Force initiative and to receive input from parents and community members throughout the District, the Task Force is sponsoring several community forums. The community forums are a critical step in receiving input, recommendations and feedback from a diverse and cross-section of individuals, and expanding parent and community-wide involvement. Interested individuals will have an opportunity to meet and share their thoughts and ideas with the Task Force.
The Parent/Community Involvement Task Force was established earlier this year to energize and increase parent and community involvement in the District and to build strong partnerships with family, business, community and government at the classroom, school area and district level.
The next community forum will be held on Thursday, October 20 from 7 to 9 p.m. at McArthur High School (6501 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood) in the school's auditorium.
