GULFSTREAM MIDDLE SCHOOL TO HOLD FLAG CEREMONY

WHO:
Gulfstream Middle School students and staff; Hallandale Mayor Joy Cooper; Hallandale Beach Fire Honor Guard; Hallandale Beach Police Honor Guard; Hallandale High School's ROTC Color Guard

WHAT:
Flag Ceremony/Observance of 10th Anniversary of 9/11

WHEN:
September 12, 2011, 1:30 - 2:15 p.m.

WHERE:
Gulfstream Middle School, 120 SW 4th Avenue, Hallandale Beach

WHY:
To educate students on the significance of our nation's flag, its history, and the importance of patriotism; to recognize the school's local fire and police departments, as well as honor those who lost their lives on 9/11

HOW:
The Honor Guard will take part in a ceremony to replace Gulfstream Middle's old American flag with a new one. Mayor Joy Cooper will speak on the significance of 9/11 and the importance of honoring those who serve our country and community. Principal Brian Kingsley will speak on the significance of the American flag.
