Due to Tropical Storm Rita, Broward County Public Schools will be CLOSED Tuesday, September 20, 2005. The District has taken the following steps:

- ALL SCHOOLS & ADMINISTRATIVE SITES WILL BE CLOSED TUESDAY.

- All ADULT EDUCATION CLASSES scheduled for Monday and Tuesday evenings are CANCELED.

- All extracurricular activities (i.e. sporting events, etc.) scheduled for Monday & Tuesday
are also canceled.

- The regularly scheduled School Board meeting for Tuesday, September 20th has been canceled.

- All After-Care programs normally scheduled for Monday ARE OPEN and will run until 6 p.m.

As of noon Monday, the county has identified three shelters that will open tonight – they are:
- Monarch High in Coconut Creek
- Fox Trail Elementary in Davie
- Watkins Elementary, Pembroke Park

A decision on additional shelter openings will be made later.
