WHAT: Morrow Elementary’s National Anthem Celebration
WHEN: Monday, September 14, 2009, beginning at 1 p.m.
WHERE: Morrow Elementary School (408 SW 76th Terrace, North Lauderdale)
WHY: Students, teachers and staff at Morrow Elementary, Home of the Patriots, - along with many schools and students from across the county - will host a celebration of the National Anthem. The event promotes students learning about the history of the song, while singing it, along with other patriotic songs. The school’s 550-plus students will wear red, white and blue to create a living flag outside the school.
On September 14, 1814, Francis Scott Key composed this nation’s national anthem, today known as the Star Spangled Banner.
