Patricia Good (District 2)

PERSONAL: Born in Havana, Cuba and raised in South Florida.  Married 21 years and mother of two children; one who attends a public school in Broward County and the other attends college in north Florida.  Resides with her family in Pembroke Pines.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND: Attended public schools in Miami-Dade County and graduated from North Miami High School with honors. Earned a Bachelors of Public Administration degree from Barry University.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT: Former Broward County Commission appointee for the Early Learning Coalition of Broward County and the Charter Review Committee. Former City of Pembroke Pines appointee for Education School Advisory Boards and Code Enforcement Board.  Volunteer for various non profit and civic organizations including American Cancer Society, Hollywood Beach Latin Festival, Elks, Kiwanis Club, Rotary Club, and Pembroke Pines Optimist.

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND: Employed over 23 years with Miami-Dade County Public Schools (MDCPS) with special appointments to the Miami-Dade County Planning Advisory Board, Plat and Street Committee and Developmental Impact Committee. Served on MDCPS District's Advertising Committee and Charter School Contract Review Committee. Professional experience includes public land acquisition and disposition, public facilities leasing, intergovernmental coordination, sustainability initiatives and growth management.

Elected to the School Board of Broward County in 2010 to serve as District 2 Board Member. Broward School Board representative on the Broward County Housing Council, Oversight Committee, Broward County Value Adjustment Board (Vice-Chair), Broward County Planning Council and Executive Board,  Broward County Land Use/Trafficways Committee and the Broward County Parks and Open Space Task Force.  Alternate member on the Broward Cultural Council, Florida School Boards Association, the Broward County Council on Substance Abuse and Take Stock in Children Leadership Council. Active participant in the Broward League of Cities, Greater Florida Consortium of School Boards, Latin Chamber of Commerce of Broward County and the Miramar/Pembroke Pines Chamber of Commerce.  Proud member of every PTA/PTSA organization established within District 2 schools.
