Public Participation
11. Persons Desiring To Make A Presentation On The Board Agenda To Discuss Board Business Shall Contact The Superintendent At Least Five (5) Days Prior To The Board Meeting In Order That An Administrative Review May Be Conducted And The Item Can Be Listed On The Official Board Agenda. Persons Or Organizations Are Limited To Their Topic Listed On The Board Agenda Under Speakers’ Presentations. No Action Shall Be Taken On A Speaker’s Item Unless The Item Otherwise Appears On The Agenda. The Board Shall Devote 30 Minutes Of The Meeting For Speakers. This 30-Minute Period Shall Commence Whenever One Of The Following Circumstances First Occurs: A) At The Conclusion Of The Board's Deliberations Upon Matters Set Upon The Board Agenda, Or B) At 1:30 Or As Soon Thereafter As Is Possible. Each Speaker's Presentation Shall Be Limited To Three (3) Minutes Unless Extended By The Board Chair. Persons Who Have Requested To Appear On The Agenda But Are Unable To Speak During The 30 Minutes May Have An Opportunity To Speak At The Conclusion Of The Agenda.

12. Those Persons Who Have Not Contacted The Superintendent At Least Five (5) Days In Advance But Who Wish To Address The Board May Be Heard At The End Of The School Board Meeting At The Discretion Of The School Board Chair. However, Issues Presented By That Person May Not Be Acted Upon By The School Board Without First Appearing On The Agenda.

13. Members Of The Public Who Are In Attendance At The Official Board Meetings May Raise A Question Or Make A Brief Statement In Behalf Of Any Item On The Official Board Agenda When Recognized By The Board Chair.

14. The Chair Shall Request That Each Member Of The Public Addressing The Board Should First State His/Her Name And Address.

15. It Shall Be The Responsibility Of The Chair To Insure That The Business Before The Board Shall Be Handled In The Most Expedient Manner. The Chair Shall Attempt To Eliminate Redundant Discussion By Board Members, As Well As The Public. Additionally, The Chair Shall Determine And Announce Any Period Of Recess Including Lunch And/Or Dinner Recesses That May Be Appropriate During The Course Of Any Public Meeting.
