Summer Graduation

The 2008 summer graduation ceremony will be held Thursday, August 7, 2008, at War Memorial Auditorium in Fort Lauderdale, at 7:00p.m.

Students who were unable to participate in their school’s June graduation ceremony may be eligible to participate in the August countywide graduation ceremony.

Students should have contacted their guidance counselor for information regarding the graduation requirements that they must meet in order to participate in the August graduation ceremony.  At that time they should have received a Co-enrollment Form that is required for them to register for a class in at open adult and community school.

Students must contact their school’s guidance department or administration to find out what must be made up in order for a student to graduate. At that time they should receive the Co-enrollment Form.

In order to participate in the summer graduation ceremony on August 7, 2008 a student must:

a. have met all of the state and county requirements to participate in a graduation.
b. purchase a Summer Graduation cap and gown from Herff Jones, located at 8230 State Road 84, Davie, Florida (954-693-0006) prior to Thursday, July 10, 2008, at the special School Board rate. Caps and gowns may be purchased at a higher price until 3:00pm, Thursday, July31, 2008, limited to “on hand” inventory. You cannot use the cap and gown you rented or purchased for the June or any other graduation ceremony.
c. attend graduation rehearsal at War Memorial Auditorium on August 7, 2008 at 9:00am.

Cap and gown ordering information and the forms that must be completed in order for a student to participate in summer graduation are available from the adult and community schools that will be open this summer.
