    Dear Maplewood Elementary School Families,
It is with great excitement that I write to you as the newly appointed Principal of Maplewood Elementary School. I am deeply honored to rejoin this vibrant community and contribute to its continued success. I hope to meet each of you over the next few months, but for now, I would like to share a little about myself.
For the past 25 years, I have been an educator in the Broward County Public School System, serving as teacher, Assistant Principal, and now Principal. My first appointment as Assistant Principal was here at Maplewood Elementary and because of this, Maplewood holds a very special place in my heart.  I realize how important creating a positive learning environment is for student success and we will continue to make Maplewood a great place to be.  I am deeply committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment where every scholar can thrive. My goal is to get to know you and your child to help meet their individual needs.
This year our theme (Together We Learn, Grow, and Succeed), puts a stamp on Maplewood’s legacy and culture, providing our students with a world-class education. Our teachers and staff collaborate to provide our scholars with learning experiences that last a lifetime. It starts the minute they walk through the door. Our positive and inclusive culture allows all our students to be seen and heard. When that happens there is nowhere to go but upward and onward!
One of my beliefs is that being incredible “does not just happen.” It happens because of what exists at Maplewood Elementary: the BEST and BRIGHTEST willing learners, SKILLED, PASSIONATE, CARING teachers and staff, SUPER SUPPORTIVE parents, and an entire school community deliberately working TOGETHER for the same goal.
This year we are excited to continue the excellence of our Robotics Program, High Achieving / Gifted classes, a Stellar InD Special Program, and most importantly the OUTSTANDING teaching, caring, and learning that goes on every day at Maplewood!
I realize that a transition in leadership can be challenging, but I assure you that my door is always open. I am here to work with you to support the needs of our scholars. I am humbled to embark on this journey and look forward to meeting each of you soon. Thank you for your warm welcome, and I look forward to connecting, learning, and growing together.
    Sincerely,
    Camille Orr, Ed.S
    Proud Principal
