Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year!
Griffin is an “A” school again
Dear Staff, Parents, Students and Community
It is with great pride and excitement that I write this introduction as the newly appointed Principal of Griffin Elementary School. I would like to thank the staff, parents and community for having faith in me to lead this dynamic A-rated school. It is a good feeling to return as Principal, after serving two years as an Intern Principal at Thurgood Marshall Elementary. Griffin was always “home” to me.
I am very proud of the school’s academic achievement on the 2018-2019 Florida Standardized Assessment. Thanks to great leadership and instruction, the schools’ overall achievement went up 37 points. Griffin is fortunate to have such an amazing faculty, staff, students and parents. Without that partnership and relationship, this success would not have been easy to achieve.
As the new leader, I will continue with the rich history, traditions and academic excellence of the school. I take pride in my commitment to the needs of all stakeholders. I strongly believe that every child has the potential to bring something special and unique to this world, every teacher has the potential to cultivate and prepare our children for a global society, and every parent wants what is best for their child. Working together as a team, we can achieve great things. As the old African proverb goes, “It takes a village to raise a child.”
Please feel free to contact me with any questions, concerns or comments. My door is always open.
