I am thrilled to welcome you to the 2022-2023 school year. This is my 8th year as the principal of Hollywood Hills Elementary School and my 24th year in Broward County Public Schools. The past few years have been challenging for all of us. I am so grateful for the flexibility, caring nature, and patience of our parents and staff who worked together to support our students. Despite the challenges we faced, we saw a lot of academic growth at Hollywood Hills last year and I could not be prouder.
Strong family engagement has always been an important part of our students' success. Please do not hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher or me at any time with questions, concerns, and suggestions. It is also important to stay informed about what your child is learning. Your child’s teacher will keep you updated, but you can reach out to share if you notice your child struggling with the content or to discuss strategies for practicing at home. Another important way that you can support your children is through encouraging good attendance. Students should be at school on time every day and avoid missing school as much as possible. As a reminder, your child needs to be in their classroom by 8:00 AM. We encourage vacations to be taken during breaks from school. Our school will continue contacting families, as needed, to help support them with ensuring children are in attendance to the greatest degree possible.
It was wonderful to see so many families attend our Teacher Meet & Greet and walking your children to class on the first day of school. Our Open House is scheduled for Wednesday, September 7 at 6:00 PM. I am excited to see the academic, social, and intrapersonal progress our students make during the 2022-2023 school year. Thank you for your very important part in Hollywood Hills Elementary's learning community. I am here to help support your children as they learn and grow. I’m looking forward to another wonderful school year!
